Do you have to take the public transport system whenever you need to go somewhere? If so, you might be wondering what some personal hygiene tips you can use to make traveling on the subways much easier to do.

Below we're going to detail some of the top tips we have to share with you regarding personal hygiene on public transportation.

1. Wear Gloves

We know this might sound and seem silly to most people, but you've got to consider the number of people that also use the public transportation system. Using gloves will keep you from having to directly touch items that aren't being sanitized routinely.

If wearing gloves isn't something you want to do, we recommend that you wash your hands frequently. This means as soon as you reach your destination, you need to wash your hands or keep a bottle of hand sanitizer with you to use while you're traveling.

2. Change Clothes

Another personal hygiene tip we have to offer is when you get home, change out of your clothes and take a shower as soon as possible. This reduces the likelihood of you transmitting germs onto your personal items.

Once you've removed your clothes, place them into the laundry basket until your next wash day. After you've taken your clothes off, the next thing you need to do is take a shower to get the rest of the germs off your skin.

3. Wear a Mask

While some places where the mask mandate has been removed, we still recommend that when you're traveling on public transport, you wear a mask. Wearing a mask will reduce the spread of germs from one person to another.

And not to mention, it keeps you from inhaling pollutants present in the air around you.

4. Social Distance

There isn't much space when you're using public transport, but you should still do your best to practice social distancing from other people using the subway. To do this, refrain from sitting or standing directly next to someone else.

You should also social distance when you're standing on the subway platform waiting for the net subway to arrive or when you're waiting for the bus.

5. Don't Touch Your Face

Without knowing it, people touch their faces several times a day. When you're using the public transportation system, you should refrain from doing this at all costs.

The reason being is that you're taking germs from whatever you've touched and then touching your face. This could lead to you ingesting or transmitting germs into your eyes and mouth accidentally.

6. Use a Travel Gadget

Travel gadgets are becoming more popular, especially for people that use the public transportation system. The way it works is you hold onto the padded part of the device and attach the hooks to the railing.

The device keeps you from falling during your trip without forcing you to have to touch dirty rails while you're getting from one place to another.
